First Annual Charity Cup Pre-Season High School Hockey Tournament
October 23rd - 25th, 2009
at Incredible Ice - 3299 Sportcomplex Drive, Coral Springs, Florida
Good work this week end. Considering we played with only 9 Manatee Players, 1 Sarasota, 1 South Pinellas and 4 local players that we didn't know. We did a good job. We came in 3rd. overall and had alot of fun doing so. We all got to know each other better and got to know what makes each other tick on and off the ice. It was a good learning, bonding trip for all.
It also was good to see what the competition is like in the Panther Division of South Florida. I met some nice people the Haines family who worked hard to put this Charity event on. They would like to come to our rink in May when we do The Jason Ritchie Memorial Shootout. They will also help promote the J.R.M.S. and spread the word to all the high schools in the south.
These events are not all about winning its about meeting new people and making the game grow in our state. By having and playing in small or big tournaments we all get to add another team to the tournament family of hockey and this will help continue to grow this High School sport. Maybe some day the Board of Education in this state will realize that their Florida students do currently play another sport other than football and baseball.
Thank you to Haines Family and we hope this event helped your charity.
Hopefully all our sick player are starting to feel healthy and Chase we hope that head of your gets healed soon so you can get back on the ice. Thanks for the phone calls and your support why we were down there Chase. See ya all Wednesday at practice. Bring your off ice gear with you for after the practice.
Thank you all for participating.
